SPS Well services

Providing wax and scale solutions for oil and gas production sites since 1994. We expanded to include weed spraying, mowing, and snow plowing in 2000, and now provide complete lease maintenance with locations in Airdrie and Innisfail to Oil and Gas companies across Alberta

Specialized wax and scale dispersants

Wax and Scale

Maintenance Programs

At SPS our main focus is providing, managing and servicing treatment programs for wax and scale mitigation. For downhole and surface equipment wax removal and mitigation we use our own formulated blends of surfactants and solvents.

For scale control and mitigation our formulations are designed for safe use on all downhole equipment, surface piping and controls.

We provide maintenance treatment programs as an alternative to 'hot oiling' or continuous injection systems. We are fully equipped with our own specialized pressure trucks that batch predetermined volumes of product blended on site for each well. We schedule and administer all treatments for Operator convenience.

Lease Maintenance

Weed spraying, mowing, and snow removal have become essential for the environmental partnership of Landowners and Producers. Working directly with Operators and Landowners we help create sustainable vegetation management while minimizing environmental impact with land Stewardship as a top priority

Weed Spraying

image80

With over 20 years of weed spraying in Alberta, we have developed our own herbicide formulas for various environmental needs and conditions. With equipment built to Industry standards we tank mix specifically for each application or site as needed.

Fully compliant with Alberta Pesticide Applicator certification and PCP Registration, we develop complete vegetation controls using contact herbicides for Barren or Broadleaf applications

Lease mowing

Lease mowing since 2005, we have equipment best suited for Oil and Gas sites small or large.  Kubota tractors with 5' mower decks, weed whackers, are trailered to site for efficient and economical grass control.

For Reclamation and Industry regulation on specific sites we have rototillers for complete vegetation removal for fire suppression or esthetic purposes as needed

snow removal

Snow removal is available for on call plowing of field sites as well as facilities as required.

Kubota 4WD tractor with 8' blade for small individual sites or larger facilities, Batteries, pipeline right-of-way or any site specific needs. Trailered to each field for fast economical response to sudden, unpredictable  winter storms of Southern Alberta.

Product information

SO-41

SO-41

SO-41

SO-41 is a water soluble non-corrosive, non-toxic blend of surfactants and natural solvents designed to disperse and emulsify paraffins in wellbores, surface equipment and pipelines for separation and removal at downstream separators

SP-75

SO-41

SO-41

SP-75 Scale Dispersant is blended with water soluble surfactants and inorganic acids (HcL) to remove precipitated calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate from wellbores, downhole pumps, perforations, and surface equipment, it is designed to be  safe on all equipment, sensors, meters,  pumps, etc.

SP-47

Batch Applications

Batch Applications

SP-47 is designed to disperse paraffins with heavy asphaltene accumulations in wellbores, surface equipment and pipelines. Blended with water soluble surfactants and glycol solvents to emulsify and disperse paraffins, it is designed to accommodate winter temperatures and conditions in lower production wells.

Batch Applications

Batch Applications

Batch Applications

Most wax and scale treatments are  batches of 400L-800L  pumped down the annulus on  4 week intervals. The well can remain pumping or a shut-in period for scale can enhance it's threshold level. Experience and production levels will determine frequency and batch size on a per well basis. The products must be applied on a regular basis to control paraffin and scale precipitations with scheduling done directly with Operators in the field prior to any treatments being done.
